Best Method of Ingestion for This Condition
Medical marijuana is found to be effective for many symptoms associated with Parkinson’s. One study found that patients with Parkinson experience improvement in motor abilities, including reducing tremors and rigidity. Another study found that patients experienced significant relief in the pain and uncomfortableness associated with Parkinson’s as well as relief from the depression, anxiety and sleep problems commonly associated with this condition. No large studies have been done in this area, however, so there is no real research showing what the most effective form of consumption is.
Patients who are experiencing severe pain might benefit more from smoking or vaporizing medical marijuana because it will provide them the most immediate relief. However, edibles might be more beneficial for patients who are looking to improve their discomfort and motor control. This is merely speculation, though, until more research is done.
Disclaimer: Parkinson’s is a condition characterized by severe pain and muscle tension. Severe pain and muscle tension are conditions approved for medical marijuana treatment in Nevada. See a list of all state-approved medical marijuana conditions. (8/29/16)
